The Gino's New York Pizza Story:

October 17, 2018

Today I traveled to Gino's New York Pizza in Apgujeong.  I had heard so many great things about this place that I had to go and check it out.  Gino's original location is in Itaewon, but since I live closer to Apgujeong I decided to visit their newer branch.  This location is gorgeous.  If you guy are into Korean Music, Rapper Dok2 is affiliated with this branch... and if you guys know about him he always does things Big and Flashy.

It is located in one of the alleys of Apgujeong Rodeo Drive, and the visuals inside and out wont disappoint.  When you first approach the store you are greeted with a big chrome sign that says Gino's New York Pizza.  Inside, Gino's New York Pizza has a huge open kitchen where you can see the pizza chef make the pizza.  I was able to see the chef prep, create, and put the pizza inside their oven.

Definitely the vibes and furnishing is amazing.  This restaurant might be the most gorgeous Pizza store of all Korea.  Inside has a very trendy feel and the walls are filled with dope artwork and signs.  They have modern art, neon lights, posters, paintings, and TVs hanging from the wall.

I actually arrived to Gino's right before they were opened for dinner, so no customers were there.  The worker kindly let me wait inside and study their menu while they were getting ready for dinner service.  Gino's has a very extensive menu filled with starters, wings, pasta, and of course pizza.  Being that it was my first time visiting Gino's I asked the worker what they would recommend.  After talking with the worker I decided to order wings and a large pizza.

The Food Ordered At Gino's New York Pizza:

Hot Buffalo Wings

Price: 10,000won

Taste:  **Side note, I took the food to-go and the food might not look as nice as when it first came out.  The wings were very standard but still very good buffalo wings.  It wasn't dripping and covered with sauce, but the taste hits you hard.  They had a slight kick that you expect from buffalo wings, but you could also taste the fried chicken and its seasonings.

Pepperoni Pizza Large

Price:  28,000won

Taste:  The pizza was definitely the star of the meal.  The crust was perfect on the bottom.  It was hot, thin, and had just enough crispiness.  Definitely it was a bomb New York slice.  The cheese had a nice pull and was stringy.  The sauce had a nice spice and tang to it.  They also didn't skimp on the toppings, where the pepperonis were PACKED on.

Taste Continue:  Combine the crust, cheese, pepperoni, and sauce and you have an amazing pizza.  On their menu's FAQ's section they even explained the "Fold & Hold" technique, teaching people the way true New Yorkers eat their pizza.

Bottom line

Overall Gino's New York Pizza was G-R-E-A-T!  The beautiful restaurant itself combined with good pizza was an amazing experience.  Also, Gino's New York Pizza's crust was the best I've had so far in Korea.
